Dispute Resolution Services
We are dispute resolution specialists offering a genuine alternative to the traditional law firm approach to litigation. We endeavour to provide a realistic assessment of your chances of success at an early stage with pragmatic, sensible and cost-effective advice. We take a proactive approach to case preparation. We will formulate a case strategy in close collaboration with the client and monitor and review it throughout the litigation process so that the client’s commercial objectives always remain paramount and the litigation does not take on a life of its own.

How we work
We provide a speedy service based on client requirements. We will discuss with you at the outset how you wish to have our services delivered and whether our advice is to be given on a fixed fee or a time basis. We will provide estimates on request. Additionally, we offer flexible fee structures including fixed fee and conditional fee arrangements.

We believe that advisory and litigation services on complex IP matters should be delivered cost-effectively and efficiently by individuals with expertise in their field, with administrative support where required. Where a litigation case requires a significant degree of human resource, we use paralegals and other non-legally qualified staff to keep the cost down.

IP consultancy and patent awareness training
We provide consultancy services to technology-based organisations that wish to manage their IP in a strategic context. We work with them to establish patent and IP strategies to suit their commercial needs.

Additionally, we provide patent awareness training to help organisations to appreciate that IP rights are business tools for leveraging competitive advantage.

|

Projects
In addition to our client focused work, we take an active role in the development of IP policy in the UK and Europe. Duncan Curley has contributed to the public debate on the IP/anti-trust interface (via the policy think tank, the Stockholm Network) and he has written a report for the Intellectual Property Institute on Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs). Recently we contributed to an investigation into the cost of enforcing trade mark rights against lookalike products in the EU.
